Personal Budgeting Tool: Specimen Layout for a Personal Budget

By Acceler8now.com Investing Education Team September, 2007

Need help with the layout of a personal budget? There is no one structure for designing your budget, provided it relates your expected incomes and expenditure and meets your budget objectives. A specimen layout is provided here as a guide. If you choose to use it, one option is to enter the columns and details in an excel worksheet and, if you know how to, insert summation and subtraction formulae in the right places. Thereafter, you simply enter your figures and the sub-totals and totals are imeediately thrown out.

You are not likely to have need for every item listed here and can enter zero where you have no budget for a particular item. On the other hand, an item that is not listed here will be added, if you need it. Feel free too to download and use our excel version of the template. Best of luck in managing your resources!
